Why I created this blog

I am a woman who wears many hats and always have been. Last year when I graduated with my masters degree in education and I quickly found that I was not going to gain employment teaching middle or high school history in my area; jobs are far and few between. We love living in Montana and the lifestyle we are afforded by living in the rockies, so I took to other forms of income. I work as a substitute teacher as often as I am able (usually 3 to 4 days a week), I worked at a brewery for a few months, finding that the schedule did not fit my life needs. I painted for the university during the summer which as amazing, but only summer employment, and I began teaching english virtually to Chinese students, but that is only about an hour a week. I was even able to get a temporary job working for the forest service taking vehicles and medical equipment up to wildfire base camps, but that was only 2 months, some of these over lapped and it was exhausting! So when the fall came around this year I found myself substitute teaching again and feeling pretty unfulfilled in my work. Being a blog reader and lover of writing/social media, I thought maybe I should try blogging; it will fill my time, be fun, rewarding, and challenging. Plus, I have the most supportive husband I could have asked for, thus when I began talking about starting a lifestyle blog he encouraged it! So now here I am, creating Just a Side Note, because frankly it is one of many things I do to add value to my life. I hope you enjoy my content and please feel free to comment and contact me with questions regarding it! Look forward to gaining readers and feedback!
